An Elgin street of great Historical importance, that has never been permitted to enjoy extensions of any kind has recently been given the green light by Moray Planners.
Many months of discussion and very helpful advice from Historic Scotland and Moray Council Planners has resulted in a breakthrough for residents of Elgins South College Street who recently approved a sensitive proposals for extending homes there. All homes on this road are Category B listed and MD at Craig Mackay commented “the challenge was to arrive at a design, shape and forrm that presented the least amount of impact upon the fabric of the buildings and allowed as much of the original building to be seen as possible. Using natural stone and contemporary glazing and roofing, we have created an “intervention” which is clearly set apart from the Historic nature of the wonderful buildings on this street, yet allowing growing families to enjoy the area for generations to come.
